Mechanical Project Manager

An Exciting Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major ductwork and ventilation package on a high-profile Ministry of Justice project.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically competent and organised construction professional with experience in ductwork, ventilation or air distribution systems. Previous experience working within prisons or other secure environments would be highly advantageous.

You'll play a key role in managing site operations, coordinating manufacturing and installation activities, maintaining programme delivery, and ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role

Reporting into the senior management team, you will take responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering the ductwork and ventilation package from pre-construction through to project completion.

Working closely with site teams, the drawing office, internal support departments and the manufacturing workshop, you will ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the ductwork and ventilation works in line with the project programme, quality standards and client expectations.
• Lead and coordinate labour-only contractors, monitoring productivity, workmanship and daily site activities.
• Produce and manage technical submittals, RFIs, RAMS, ITPs, progress reports and outstanding works schedules.
• Coordinate with design teams and the manufacturing workshop to ensure ductwork is planned, fabricated and delivered in line with installation programmes.
• Review manufacturing drawings and technical information to ensure quality, buildability and installation requirements are met.
• Identify programme risks, manufacturing constraints and site dependencies, implementing solutions to maintain project delivery.
• Maintain quality assurance documentation, handover records and project close-out information.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Previous experience as a Project Manager, Site Manager, Package Manager or similar within ductwork, ventilation or air distribution projects.
• Strong technical understanding of construction drawings, specifications, programmes and technical documentation.
• Experience managing labour-only contractors and coordinating manufacturing activities.
• Knowledge of RFIs, technical submittals, RAMS, ITPs and quality assurance processes.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Desirable

• Previous experience delivering Ministry of Justice, prison, custodial or other secure environment projects.
• Experience coordinating fabrication planning, drawing reviews and manufacturing workshops.
• Ability to identify programme risks and implement practical solutions to maintain project progress.
