This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Services Manager, Mechanical Supervisor or Senior Technician looking to take the next step in their career. You will oversee and supervise the mechanical services team and contractors, ensuring statutory, planned and reactive maintenance is delivered across the main and remote campuses in line with agreed SLAs.

The Role
As Mechanical Services Manager, you will:
* Lead and supervise the mechanical services team, including technicians, apprentices and contractors.
* Ensure statutory, planned and reactive maintenance is delivered safely, efficiently and within agreed SLAs.
* Manage compliance of key mechanical systems, including natural gas, water, F-Gas, HVAC and BMS.
* Set up and renew contractor provisions, ensuring appropriate specialist support is in place.
* Manage and allocate the team's workload using the Planon CAFM system; training will be provided.
* Lead responses to emergency mechanical issues, supporting investigations and diagnosing problems.
* Meet and liaise with contractors, explain issues and ensure effective repair solutions are identified and delivered.
* Monitor contractor performance and audit the quality and safety of completed works.
* Ensure value for money across contractor services, materials and maintenance activity.
* Manage health and safety requirements, including reviewing RAMS and ensuring safe systems of work are followed.
* Actively support and mentor mechanical technicians and apprentices.
* Work closely with the wider Estates team and customers to provide a responsive and effective service.
* Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reduce repeat issues and increase planned and preventative maintenance.
This is a hands-on management role where you will be expected to get involved in technical investigations, work alongside the mechanical team and provide practical solutions to complex issues.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Services Manager, Mechanical Supervisor or Senior Mechanical Technician who has a strong background in managing and maintaining mechanical installations and is ready to take on a wider management responsibility.
You will ideally have:
* HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications/experience in a relevant mechanical, building services or facilities management discipline.
* Experience managing or supervising mechanical maintenance teams and contractors.
* Good knowledge and experience of compliance relating to mechanical systems, including natural gas, water, F-Gas, HVAC and BMS.
* Experience of planned, reactive and statutory maintenance.
* Strong understanding of health and safety, contractor management and safe systems of work.
* Experience investigating mechanical faults and diagnosing technical issues.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Good communication and customer service skills, with the confidence to liaise with contractors, technicians, customers and senior stakeholders.
* A practical, proactive approach and the ability to identify effective solutions to problems.
* Willingness to learn and develop - training may be provided where there are minor gaps in experience.
* A full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
Location & Travel
The role will involve supporting operations across multiple locations. You must be willing and able to travel to remote campus buildings, including Scarborough, Milton Keynes, Central London and Dagenham.
Occasional overnight stays may be required.
