Job Title
Dornan Engineering Group is a leading international engineering contractor delivering high-value projects across Europe, UK & Ireland. Based in London, this is an exciting opportunity to join our growing site team as a Mechanical Supervisor to deliver infrastructure upgrades on a datacentre project in east London. You will play a key role on a high-profile site, supervising construction packages and deliver in a live environment, so experience working on a similar project such as an airport or a hospital setting etc is beneficial.
Your day will include:
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation works, including HVAC, chilled water, pipework, plant rooms, and equipment installation, ensuring work is delivered safely and on programme.
- Manage mechanical operatives and subcontractors on site, planning daily activities, allocating labour, and monitoring productivity against the construction schedule.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety requirements, RAMS, and permit systems, particularly within a live or mission‑critical data centre environment.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other trade supervisors to coordinate interfaces, resolve technical issues, and support testing and commissioning activities.
- Carry out quality inspections, manage snags, and ensure all mechanical installations meet drawings, specifications, and datacentre standards prior to handover.
About You
- Previous experience supervising mechanical installations on large‑scale projects, ideally data centres, pharma, or other mission‑critical environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services, including HVAC, pipework systems, plant rooms, and commissioning processes.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage direct labour and subcontractors, drive productivity, and maintain high standards on site.
- Excellent understanding of health & safety requirements, RAMS, and safe systems of work in complex, high‑risk environments.
- An organised, proactive approach with strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with project teams and other trades.
