Mechanical Supervisor

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Mechanical Supervisor to join our team on a large-scale mixed-use development project. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile construction project involving residential apartments, commercial units, retail spaces, and associated infrastructure.

The successful candidate will oversee mechanical and public health installations on site, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality while coordinating site teams and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising mechanical and public health installations, including domestic water, heating, and drainage systems.
• Overseeing installation of copper, steel, stainless steel, and plastic pipework systems.
• Coordinating installation of valves, pumps, plant room equipment, and associated services.
• Managing and supervising plumbers, pipefitters, and subcontractors on site.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Ensuring works are carried out in line with programme deadlines and quality standards.
• Conducting site inspections, progress reporting, and quality checks.
• Identifying and resolving installation issues or design clashes.
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and site procedures.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
• Liaising with project managers, engineers, and other trades.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or Senior Plumber/Pipefitter stepping up.
• Strong background in commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and public health systems.
• Ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple trades.

Qualifications Needed

• SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) – essential
• Valid CSCS Card (Supervisor level preferred)
• NVQ/City & Guilds in Plumbing/Pipefitting or Mechanical Services
• First Aid (preferred but not essential)
