We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join their Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanical engineer to support the maintenance, reliability, and performance of production equipment and site infrastructure within a manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will assist in managing mechanical maintenance activities across the business, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults, and repairing mechanical equipment to minimise downtime and maximise operational performance.



Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out all activities in full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, company policies, and procedures.
  • Report unsafe acts and conditions through the Near Miss reporting system.
  • Perform mechanical Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), and Reactive Maintenance (RM) on production equipment and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Diagnose faults and conduct root cause analysis to identify and eliminate recurring issues.
  • Work in accordance with site procedures, engineering standards, and relevant legislation.
  • Utilise the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage and record maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Work within the site's Permit to Work system and Safe Systems of Work.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • HNC qualification or equivalent in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in a mechanical maintenance role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Good working knowledge of maintenance best practices, including preventative maintenance, condition monitoring, and MTBF principles.
  • Strong IT, communication, and team-working skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
