The Role
As part of our ongoing growth, we are actively recruiting a Mechanical Technician to join our Mechanical Production team, working across all mechanical aspects of our equipment and systems.
Main Duties
- Undertake build, repair, and maintenance of downhole mechanical assemblies
- Perform test builds of new equipment and prototype testing
- Work competently on mechanical equipment and systems within the downhole sector of the oil industry
- Read drawings and interpret work instructions, delivering work to time and quality
- Carry out surveys and pre-fit examinations of equipment
- Advise on the ordering of equipment for new tools and development work
- Carry out function, pressure, and gas testing
- Participate in design reviews
- Support internal customers on technical queries
- Maintain build files and related documentation
- Support operations by working at client sites, both onshore and offshore
- Use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the role of a mechanical fitter
Required Skills & Experience
- Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent
- Five years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Tool Dresser
- Experience with oilfield downhole tools
- Hydrostatic and gas testing experience is desirable
