Job Opportunity: Mechanical Vehicle Inspector
Location: Kingsnorth
Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent
Working Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday 
Working Hours: 07:00am – 17:00pm
Salary: £15.50 p/hr 

Our client is a prominent leader in the field of automotive logistics and remarketing solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Vehicle Inspector to be responsible for assessing the mechanical, electrical, and structural integrity of vehicles (cars, trucks, or commercial fleets) to ensure they meet safety, quality, and legal roadworthiness standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspections: Conduct thorough, detailed vehicle health checks (VHCs), including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, to assess roadworthiness.
• Diagnostics: Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults on a variety of vehicle brands.
• Quality Control: Verify that repairs, servicing, and technical modifications conducted in the workshop meet technical and safety standards.
• Documentation: Prepare detailed inspection reports, maintain logbooks, and document all damages, wear, and tear.
• Reporting: Clearly report findings to customers, leasing companies, or workshop managers.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety standards and traffic laws (e.g., Certificate of Fitness checks).
• Components Check: Test and inspect critical components, including brakes, tires, lighting, and emissions.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience completing VHC’s in a dealership environment or L2 light vehicle repair qualified.
• Full UK/EU driving licence.

Skills and Experience:

• Strong diagnostic skills, proficiency with computer systems for reporting, and keen attention to detail.
• Certification: In some regions, accreditation as an Inspection Engineer (PI) or Vehicle Examiner.
