Are you a hands-on engineer with a passion for complex engineering systems, real-time simulation and problem solving?
We're looking for a talented Simulation Systems Engineer to join an innovative engineering team responsible for maintaining and developing one of the UK's most advanced Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments. Working at the forefront of engineering, you'll help deliver sophisticated simulation capability that enables the testing of complex systems in a safe, controlled environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys combining mechanical, electrical and control system knowledge with practical fault finding and continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing

Supporting and maintaining advanced Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation facilities

Performing planned preventative maintenance and reactive fault diagnosis

Working on multi-axis hydraulic motion systems and precision positioning equipment
-
Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and control system issues
-
Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical engineering drawings
-
Supporting upgrades and continuous improvement projects
-
Ensuring simulation systems remain reliable, accurate and available for critical engineering programmes

Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams
We're looking for experience in some of the following
-
Mechatronics, Mechanical, Systems or Electronic Engineering
-
Hydraulic systems
-
Control systems and automation
-
Electro-mechanical equipment
-
Mechanical assembly and workshop practices
-
Reading mechanical and electrical drawings
-
CAD experience, ideally CREO although other packages will be considered
-
Fault finding and maintenance of complex engineering equipment
-
Preventative and corrective maintenance
-
Engineering management or maintenance information systems
