Are you a hands-on engineer with a passion for complex engineering systems, real-time simulation and problem solving?

We're looking for a talented Simulation Systems Engineer to join an innovative engineering team responsible for maintaining and developing one of the UK's most advanced Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments. Working at the forefront of engineering, you'll help deliver sophisticated simulation capability that enables the testing of complex systems in a safe, controlled environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys combining mechanical, electrical and control system knowledge with practical fault finding and continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting and maintaining advanced Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation facilities

• Performing planned preventative maintenance and reactive fault diagnosis

• Working on multi-axis hydraulic motion systems and precision positioning equipment

• Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and control system issues

• Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical engineering drawings

• Supporting upgrades and continuous improvement projects

• Ensuring simulation systems remain reliable, accurate and available for critical engineering programmes

• Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams

We're looking for experience in some of the following

• Mechatronics, Mechanical, Systems or Electronic Engineering

• Hydraulic systems

• Control systems and automation

• Electro-mechanical equipment

• Mechanical assembly and workshop practices

• Reading mechanical and electrical drawings

• CAD experience, ideally CREO although other packages will be considered

• Fault finding and maintenance of complex engineering equipment

• Preventative and corrective maintenance

• Engineering management or maintenance information systems
