Hybrid Working: 75% remote working with a minimum of just 2 office days per month
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £13.90 per hour

We're recruiting on behalf of our client for a Minute Taker / Business Support Officer to join their dedicated Children & Young People's Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented administrator to play an important role in supporting statutory meetings that help safeguard and improve outcomes for children, young people and families.

What You'll Be Doing
As a key member of the team, you will:
  • Produce clear, accurate and professional minutes for statutory Children & Young People's meetings.
  • Capture and summarise complex discussions into concise, high-quality records.
  • Support Independent Chairs with creating and updating Child Protection Plans.
  • Help produce accessible versions of plans for children, young people and families.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendees and contact information.
  • Ensure confidential and sensitive information is handled securely at all times.
  • Update relevant systems and databases with minute-related information.
  • Contribute ideas to improve processes and service delivery.
  • Provide additional administrative support duties as required.

What We're Looking For

Essential
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent experience).
  • Enhanced DBS Required
    Due to the nature of this role, an Enhanced DBS check is required. If you already have a valid certificate registered with the DBS Update Service, that's great. If not, don't worry, the cost of obtaining a new DBS certificate will be covered for the successful candidate.
  • Previous minute-taking experience.
  • Strong grammar, spelling and written communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Administrative experience within a busy office environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Desirable
  • Experience working within Children's Services or a similar public sector environment.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and related legislation.
  • Knowledge of Children, Young People and Families services.
  • Previous business support experience within statutory services.
