Melter/Furnace Operative

Reed Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing company.

Dedicated and safety-conscious Manufacturing Operator with experience supporting furnace operations and heavy industrial material handling within engineering and manufacturing environments. Skilled in working with VIM, VAR, ESR, heat treatment furnaces, and similar process equipment, ensuring strict compliance with quality, safety, and operational procedures. Proven ability to work effectively within team-based environments, maintaining high standards of housekeeping, process control, and productivity. Recognised for reliability, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement.

• Safe operation of overhead cranes and forklift trucks
• Furnace operations including VIM, VAR, ESR, and related metallurgical processes
• Charge preparation, material mixing, and furnace loading activities
• Crucible, refractory, and mould preparation
• Heat treatment furnace loading and unloading
• Accurate completion of QA documentation and melt records
• Furnace cleaning, inspection, and routine maintenance support
• Process monitoring and adherence to operating procedures
• Strong understanding of workplace health, safety, and environmental standards
• Continuous improvement participation and implementation of training initiatives
