Location: Lewes, East Sussex Salary: £28,640 per year Hours: 37 per week
What you’ll be doing: Southdown is one of the leading providers of mental health services in Sussex. We work in partnership with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and GPs, providing integrated support pathways for clients, in particular clients who face more complex mental health situations. As a Mental Health Support Coordinator you’ll be co-located at Foundry Healthcare Lewes and work in partnership with a multidisciplinary team to identify and provide targeted mental health and holistic support.
You’ll support clients, from completing initial assessment through to facilitating access to other mental health services. A key part of the role will be to deliver short term recovery-focused sessions with clients, co-creating support plans and goals, and using coaching and motivational interviewing to explore barriers.
If you are passionate about providing recovery focused support to enable clients to reach their goals, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome applications from candidates with previous experience such as Support Worker, Social Prescriber, Case Manager, Social Worker, Care Coordinator, Mental Health Specialist or Service Coordinator. However, this is not essential and full training will be provided.

Knowledge, skills & experience
What you’ll need for the role:
- You’ll need a good understanding of working in mental health or equivalent transferable skills
- You have a genuine passion for supporting people to explore their needs
- An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be paid for by Southdown
- A full driving licence along with access to your own car or a car insured for you is desirable but not essential.
- Experience supporting clients experiencing mental health challenges, including those in crisis and/or facing complex challenges
