Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Corby area. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

Working closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support, you will play a key role in creating a positive and nurturing learning environment where every pupil can thrive.

The Role:

• Supporting students with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom

• Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and confidence

• Assisting teachers in delivering lessons and interventions

• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

• Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

• Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs and pastoral teams

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational, care, youth work or support setting

• A calm, patient and resilient approach

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• An understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management strategies

• A genuine passion for supporting young people's wellbeing and development
