MEP Project Director at Dornan Engineering Services, Northumberland

Job Title

Reporting to Operations Director, effective management of a project from initial client contact to project handover and thereafter to end of warranty period.

Effective management of the project the company's objectives in relation to service, profitability and client relationship development are to be achieved.

As a key member of the team, the Project Director will be an exemplar ambassador for the company and its values; integrity, dependability, safety, pride, quality.

Your Team

You will lead and support a multidisciplinary project team, working closely with engineering, commercial, EHS and construction functions. You will provide clear direction, leadership and mentoring to ensure high performance and successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

· Lead project handover, mobilisation and start-up activities.

· Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, procurement and cost controls.

· Manage day-to-day project delivery, ensuring programme, cost, quality and contractual targets are met.

· Lead site teams, subcontractors and labour to ensure efficient project execution.

· Manage client, design team and stakeholder relationships.

· Monitor project progress, productivity, costs, resources and risks.

· Ensure compliance with EHS, quality, technical and contractual requirements.

· Coordinate procurement, materials, engineering and site activities.

· Oversee testing, commissioning, handover and project close-out.

· Manage project documentation, O&M manuals, record drawings and final accounts.

· Lead, mentor and develop project teams.

· Drive continuous improvement and maintain effective communication across all stakeholders.

About You

Your Experience

· Proven experience leading large-scale construction projects from start-up through to completion.

· Strong background in project management, with responsibility for programme, cost, quality, EHS and commercial performance.

· Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and key client/stakeholder relationships.

· Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, commissioning and project close-out.

· Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage risk and deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.

Your Qualifications

Essential:

· Relevant engineering, construction management or equivalent qualification.

· Project management or construction-related professional qualification desirable.

· Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project controls and commercial management.

· Relevant health & safety qualification or training desirable.
