We are currently recruiting an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join a major development in Bristol on a long-term contract basis.

The successful candidate will be working on the Brabazon development and will take commercial responsibility for a significant M&E package.

This is a major, long-term project and we are particularly interested in speaking with Quantity Surveyors who have previously managed M&E packages with values in the region of £10m–£20m.

The Role

As MEP Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of the M&E package throughout the project.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Commercial management of Mechanical & Electrical packages

  • Managing project costs, budgets and forecasts

  • Subcontractor procurement and commercial management

  • Preparation and assessment of valuations

  • Managing variations and change control

  • Preparing and agreeing subcontractor accounts

  • Cost reporting and commercial forecasting

  • Identifying and managing commercial risks

  • Working closely with Project Managers and the wider project delivery team

  • Monitoring project performance against budgets

  • Supporting procurement and package management

  • Managing applications, payments and final accounts

  • Attending commercial and project meetings

  • Ensuring accurate commercial records are maintained throughout the project

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor with:

  • Strong M&E / Building Services experience

  • Previous experience commercially managing M&E packages valued between £10m–£20m

  • Experience working for an M&E contractor or major building services subcontractor

  • Strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical installations

  • Experience managing subcontractors, valuations, variations and final accounts

  • Good commercial and contractual knowledge

  • Ability to manage a substantial package with minimal supervision

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Relevant Quantity Surveying or commercial qualification preferred
