We are working with an established, highly respected construction contractor with an impressive portfolio of major projects across the UK.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a prestigious new-build government office development in Darlington.

The Project

You will be working on a major new-build commercial office development for the Government in Darlington, with an MEP package valued in excess of £20 million.

The project offers an excellent opportunity to take commercial responsibility for significant mechanical and electrical works while working alongside an experienced project delivery team.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages.

• Procurement and management of subcontractors.

• Preparation and assessment of valuations, variations and final accounts.

• Cost reporting, forecasting and budget management.

• Contract administration and commercial risk management.

• Working closely with project managers, engineers and the wider commercial team.

• Identifying opportunities to maximise commercial performance.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor.

• Strong mechanical and/or electrical building services knowledge.

• Experience working on major construction or MEP projects.

• Good understanding of construction contracts, ideally including NEC.

• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of an established team.
