Metal Finisher in Ashton-under-Lyne, Borough of Tameside

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Metal Finisher / Deburr Operative to join a busy manufacturing environment working on a permanent basis near Ashton Under Lyne.

Rate is c£13.70 - 14.20 PAYE Per hour plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, pension, company bonus, healthcare etc.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and finishing components to a high standard, working predominantly with thin-gauge aluminium.

Key Responsibilities for the Metal Finisher / Deburr Operative:

• Manually remove lugs, burrs and sharp edges from metal components

• Use a range of hand tools and finishing equipment, including files, orbital sanders and fly presses

• Work from engineering drawings and follow written work instructions

• Ensure all components are finished to a consistently high-quality standard

• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment in line with 5S standards

• Work accurately on close-tolerance components where attention to detail is essential

Experience Required for the Metal Finisher / Deburr Operative:

• Previous experience in a deburring, metal finishing or similar manufacturing role

• Experience manually removing burrs/lugs from metal components

• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

• Familiarity with hand tools, orbital sanders and fly presses

• Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach

• Strong commitment to health and safety and 5S practices
