A strong opportunity for a qualified language teacher to join an outstanding grammar school with a high-achieving pupil population and established GCSE and sixth-form provision.
Tradewind Recruitment are currently supporting a highly regarded selective grammar school seeking an MFL Teacher to join its established languages provision. The school has a strong academic profile, high expectations of pupils and a broad curriculum extending from Key Stage 3 through to A Level.
The successful candidate will teach a modern foreign language across the secondary age range, contributing to consistently high standards of teaching, learning and examination preparation.
The Role
As an MFL Teacher, you will be responsible for:
- Planning and delivering engaging MFL lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Teaching language skills including speaking, listening, reading, writing and translation
- Preparing pupils effectively for GCSE examinations
- Assessing pupil progress and providing clear, constructive feedback
- Maintaining high expectations of behaviour, presentation and academic achievement
- Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development
- Supporting pupils who wish to continue language study into the sixth form
- Working collaboratively with colleagues within the languages department
- Maintaining accurate records of assessment and pupil progress
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- QTS or recognised UK teaching qualification
- A degree or strong academic background in a relevant modern foreign language
- Experience teaching MFL within a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge and accurate language skills
- Experience teaching towards GCSE; sixth-form experience would be advantageous
- A clear understanding of effective language teaching and assessment
- High expectations of pupil achievement and classroom standards
- The ability to build positive professional relationships with pupils and colleagues
- A valid DBS or willingness to complete the required safeguarding checks
