We’re working with a fast-growing and ambitious business in Plymouth that’s looking to add a Mid-Level Web Developer with Shopify experience to their expanding in-house team.

The Opportunity

You’ll be responsible for developing, customising and maintaining Shopify-based websites, working closely with designers, account managers and senior team to deliver fast, scalable and conversion-focused online stores.

This is a great opportunity for a developer who enjoys variety across projects and hands-on Shopify development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and customise Shopify themes using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Translate UI/UX designs into responsive, production-ready storefronts
  • Develop and maintain custom Shopify features and components
  • Integrate third-party apps, APIs, and services (payments, shipping, CRM, etc.)
  • Optimise website performance, speed, and SEO
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain existing Shopify stores
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver projects to deadline and specification

Requirements

  • 2–5 years’ web development experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Shopify development
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
  • Experience working with Shopify themes and APIs
  • Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Familiarity with Git version control
  • Awareness of SEO and performance optimisation best practices

Desirable Skills

  • Experience developing Shopify apps
  • Knowledge of React or modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with Shopify Hydrogen or headless commerce
