Midday Supervisor - SEN Schools Across Southampton
A number of warm, inclusive SEN schools in and around the Southampton area are seeking caring, reliable and committed Midday Supervisors to support pupils with a wide range of complex needs. These specialist settings support children and young people aged 2-19 with complex learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory needs and medical conditions.
This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in pupils' wellbeing, safety and enjoyment during the lunchtime period.
About the Midday Supervisor Role
As part of a supportive team, you will help ensure pupils are safe, engaged and nurtured throughout lunch and play.
You will:
- Support pupil wellbeing during lunch and indoor/outdoor play
- Provide daily care and supervision in line with school policies
- Encourage positive communication, social interaction and independence
- Assist with personal care routines where required
- Help maintain a calm, structured and nurturing lunchtime environment
- Work collaboratively with staff to meet a wide range of complex needs
- Support feeding routines for pupils with significant or complex needs
- Assist pupils with the use of cutlery, adapted utensils and drinking aids
Pupils may have:
- Autism
- Communication Difficulties
- Complex Developmental Delay
- Complex Medical Needs
- Emotional or Mental Health Needs
- Physical Disabilities
- Sensory Integration Difficulties
- Sensory Disabilities
Contract Details
- Location: SEN schools across Southampton and surrounding areas
- Position: Midday Supervisor
- Hours: 2 hours per day
- Working Pattern: Monday-Friday
- Contract: Part‑time, term‑time
- Start Date: September 2026 or as soon as available
- Pay: From £14.25 per hour

Requirements
- Right to Work in the UK
- Enhanced child‑barred list DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
- References covering the last 24 months
