Middleweight Interior Designer
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: £29-33,000
I am seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Middleweight Interior Designer to join a welcoming team based in Chelmsford. The well-established firm works across diverse sectors including hospitality, residential, and healthcare, consistently delivering creative, client-focused solutions. With a well-established reputation, they pride themselves on building long-lasting relationships with their clients.
On Offer:
- Collaborative studio environment with a team of approximately 15 professionals.
- Full-time, office-based role working Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
- Four weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support interior design projects through all stages, from feasibility and concept design to construction and handover.
- Develop innovative design concepts and prepare presentation materials for client meetings.
- Produce high-quality technical drawing packages, including plans, elevations, sections and bespoke joinery details.
- Prepare FF&E specifications, source products and obtain supplier quotations.
- Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers throughout project delivery.
- Attend site visits and project meetings, monitoring progress and resolving design-related queries.
- Manage snagging activities and support projects through to successful completion.
- Keep abreast of industry developments, design trends, materials and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Sufficient experience within commercial interior design.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
- Strong portfolio showcasing hospitality, workplace and/or hotel projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop; rendering software experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent design, space planning and technical detailing skills.
- Experience presenting concepts to clients and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Strong understanding of FF&E specification, material selection and supplier coordination.
- Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills, together with a full UK driving licence.
