About the Role
Aspirare Recruitment is recruiting an experienced MIG Welder / Fabricator for a premier, workshop-based engineering client in East Kilbride. This role offers long-term stability, excellent overtime potential, and a direct path to a permanent contract after 13 weeks. You will be working on heavy-duty structural engineering projects within a modern, fully equipped fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

  • MIG Welding: Perform high-quality MIG welding on heavy-gauge mild steel and Hardox wear plate components.
  • Fabrication & Assembly: Fabricate, fit, and assemble industrial mixer components and structural steel sections.
  • Preparation & Finishing: Carry out grinding, cutting, fitting, and finishing of all fabricated parts to high standards.
  • Technical Engineering: Accurately read, interpret, and work directly from engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Safety & Standards: Maintain a clean, organized work area and strictly adhere to workshop health and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record as a MIG Welder, ideally within a heavy fabrication or heavy engineering environment.
  • Technical Skills: Confident reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings.
  • Material Knowledge: Demonstrated experience working with mild steel, heavy-gauge materials, or wear plates (Hardox).
  • Quality Focus: Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work efficiently as an independent fabricator and collaborate within a skilled team.
