We’re hiring for a MIG Welder to join a leading manufacturer of high-grade fittings at their modernised site based in Hyde, Tameside. You’ll be working predominantly with mild steel, welding consistent welds across a range of components.

What’s on offer?

  • £17.00 - £17.50 per hour
  • Bonus scheme
  • Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 5:15pm / Friday 8:30am – 2:00pm
  • 25 days holiday (excluding bank holidays)
  • Overtime available at an enhanced rate

What will you be doing as a MIG Welder?

  • MIG welding predominantly on mild steel components
  • Completing single-run welds, including fillet and butt welds
  • Welding material generally ranging from 5mm thickness upwards
  • Using hand tools, jigs and fixtures to position, weld and build components to a high standard
  • Working from engineering drawings, fabrication plans and welding procedures
  • Visually inspecting completed welds to ensure components conform to drawing and specification requirements
  • Carrying out some stainless-steel welding where required

What do you need?

  • Previous MIG welding experience
  • Experience producing single-run fillet and butt welds
  • Experience welding mild steel, ideally from 5mm thickness upwards
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings
  • Fabrication experience would be desirable
  • Turntable welding experience would be a significant advantage
  • Stainless-steel welding experience would be preferred but is not essential
