A Driving Role With Real Responsibility
Claires Court is looking for an experienced Minibus Driver to join its driving team in Maidenhead.
Working as part of the Estates Team, you will be responsible for transporting pupils safely between school, home and school activities, while providing a calm, professional and friendly service.
This is a term time position, approximately 36 weeks per year, working Monday to Friday from 1:00pm to 7:30pm.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is more than simply getting from A to B. You will play an important role in making sure pupils travel safely and that the School’s transport service runs smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Driving school minibuses safely along allocated routes
- Transporting pupils to and from school and school activities
- Familiarising yourself with routes, traffic patterns and any local diversions
- Completing passenger registers and daily transport records
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
- Checking fuel, oil, water, screenwash and tyres
- Keeping minibuses clean, tidy and presentable
- Reporting vehicle faults promptly
- Ensuring seat belts are worn and safety procedures are followed
- Maintaining a calm and orderly environment on board
- Reporting any significant pupil behaviour or safety concerns
- Working closely with the Estates Team and wider school staff
The role requires a professional, proactive and safety conscious approach at all times.
About You
We’re looking for someone dependable, calm and confident behind the wheel, with the professionalism needed when transporting children and young people.
To be considered, you will need:
- A valid, clean UK driving licence with Category D1 entitlement, or an appropriate PCV licence
- Proven safe and confident driving experience
- Good knowledge of the UK Highway Code
- The ability to carry out basic vehicle checks
- Excellent punctuality and reliability
- A polite, patient and helpful manner
- Confidence interacting with pupils of different ages
- A flexible, team focused approach
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
Experience driving larger or passenger carrying vehicles would be particularly relevant, and good knowledge of local roads would be useful.
