We're recruiting for an experienced Mobile Electrician to join one of the UK's leading Facilities Management providers, covering retail and commercial sites across Coventry and the surrounding areas.
This is a varied field-based position where you'll carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and electrical fault finding across a portfolio of well-known customer sites. With paid travel time, regular overtime, a company vehicle for private use and structured technical training, this role offers excellent long-term earning potential and career progression.
The Role
Working as part of an established regional engineering team, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical maintenance across multiple retail properties.
The role combines planned maintenance with reactive fault finding and minor mechanical maintenance, ensuring sites remain safe, compliant and fully operational.
You'll work independently while receiving excellent support from the wider engineering team and management, with opportunities to develop additional technical skills through ongoing training.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across multiple commercial retail sites.
- Attend reactive breakdowns and complete electrical fault finding and repairs.
- Support other engineers with planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately using the Mercury CAFM system.
- Carry out minor electrical and building services repairs.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle to a high standard.
- Travel throughout Coventry and the surrounding region as required.
- Build positive relationships with customers while representing the business professionally.
- Work to agreed service level agreements and company KPI's.
What You'll Need
We're looking for qualified electricians with experience working within Facilities Management, building services or commercial maintenance environments.
You'll ideally have experience as a:
- Mobile Electrician
- Maintenance Electrician
- Facilities Maintenance Electrician
- Building Services Electrician
- Electrical Maintenance Engineer
- FM Electrician
You'll also need:
- Experience carrying out electrical maintenance and fault finding.
- Good knowledge of commercial electrical systems.
- Experience working independently across multiple customer sites.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent apprenticeship.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Salary & Benefits
- Basic salary of £37,289
- Standby allowance of £2,535
- Additional £1,500 competency payment following completion of electrical fault training on catering and bakery equipment
- Total package of £41,324 before overtime
- Overtime paid at 1.5x Monday-Friday
- Double time at weekends
- Typical earnings of £45,000-£50,000+
