Purpose of Role To support the maintenance and repair of rail freight vehicles, carrying out mechanical and electrical work while developing engineering skills in a safety-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled maintenance at approved locations
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on locomotives and rolling stock
- Test and assess equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation
- Work in line with Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and company procedures
- Complete accurate maintenance documentation
- Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and workmanship
- Work independently or as part of a team under supervision when required
- NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline
- Full UK Driving Licence
