Alecto Recruitment is working with an established materials handling business looking to recruit multiple Field Service Engineers to support its growing customer base across Cumbria and the North West.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically qualified engineer looking for a stable, permanent position, varied field-based work and the opportunity to increase earnings through overtime.

The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing forklift trucks and materials handling equipment at customer sites across the region.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, with electrical fault-finding skills an advantage.
- Attending customer sites to minimise equipment downtime.
- Completing maintenance records and ensuring equipment is safe and compliant.
- Managing your workload independently while delivering excellent customer service.
- You will primarily work out on the road, with depot visits required around once or twice a week to collect parts.
What We're Looking For
- A recognised mechanical engineering qualification or relevant engineering background.
- Experience servicing and repairing forklifts, plant machinery or similar mechanical equipment.
- Electrical knowledge and diagnostic skills would be advantageous.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- A reliable, flexible and customer-focused attitude.
- Ideally based in Cumbria or within a commutable distance of the North West patch.
- Experience with forklift trucks or materials handling equipment would be highly advantageous, although engineers from other relevant mechanical backgrounds may also be considered.
