We’re looking for a hands-on, proactive Mobile Mechanical Plant Fitter to join our engineering team based at Clitheroe Quarry. This is a key role supporting multiple sites across the Lancashire region, focused on maintaining critical plant equipment, improving reliability, minimising downtime, and driving continuous improvement. If you have experience working on conveyors, crushers, screens, pumps, gearboxes or similar industrial equipment and take pride in keeping operations running safely and efficiently then this could be the role for you!

What You’ll Be Doing

You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of quarry and plant equipment.This involves working across sites, responding to breakdowns, delivering planned maintenance andsupportingimprovement projects within a dynamic operational environment. You will:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across mobile plant
  • Respondto plant breakdowns, restoring equipment to service safely and efficiently
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and implement robust, long-term solutions
  • Supportand deliver small engineering and improvement projects
  • Work collaboratively with contractors and site teams
  • Contribute to root causeanalysisand continuous improvement activities
  • Undertake welding and fabrication to a high standard
  • Follow risk assessments and safe systems of work at all times
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems
  • Promote and uphold high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance

What We’re Looking For

You will be a practical, self-motivated engineer with experience in heavy industry or a similar environment with a strong focus on safety and plant performance. You will also have:

  • Experience in quarrying, industrial plant, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability
  • Proven ability to carry out effective breakdown repairs
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Basic IT skills (maintenance systems and reporting)
  • A solidunderstandingof health and safety practices
  • Knowledge of mobile crushers, conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, belt sand vibratory screens
  • Recognised mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent depth of experience

Location: based at Clitheroe Quarry in the Ribble Valley, this role is commutable from Accrington, Blackburn, Burnley, Skipton and surrounding areas.
