Overview 

ITS Property Maintenance are working with a reputable and growing facilities management contractor delivering planned and reactive mechanical and plumbing maintenance services across a varied portfolio of commercial and domestic properties. 

Due to continued contract growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Mobile Mechanical / Plumbing Engineer to join the team, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and emergency breakdown works across multiple client sites. 

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term mobile position with a well-established facilities management provider, offering a varied workload across heating, plumbing, HVAC and commercial plant systems. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across multiple client sites. 

  • Maintaining and repairing domestic boilers, combi-boilers, system pumps and motorised zone valves 

  • Repairing and replacing toilets, showers, taps, sinks and associated plumbing systems. 

  • Maintaining and repairing unvented hot water cylinders 

  • Clearing blocked internal wastes, waste traps and external domestic gullies 

  • Balancing heating circuits, bleeding radiators and replacing thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) 

  • Servicing and maintaining air handling units (AHUs) and fan coil units (FCUs) 

  • Inspecting and maintaining commercial boilers, calorifiers, booster sets and pressurisation units 

  • Repairing commercial pipework systems including copper, carbon steel and Mapress installations 

  • Maintaining twin-head circulating pumps and sump pumps 

  • Checking motorised control valves and actuators 

  • Carrying out mechanical and plumbing fault finding and diagnosing breakdowns across heating, cooling and water systems 

  • Completing compliance records, job sheets and maintenance documentation using mobile CAFM systems 

  • Working safely and ensuring compliance with RAMS, permit-to-work procedures, statutory requirements and client health and safety standards 

What We're Looking For 

City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering. 

  • G3 qualification for Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems 

  • CCN1 and relevant domestic gas qualifications 

  • Proven experience working within a mobile, multi-site facilities management environment. 

  • Strong mechanical, plumbing and heating fault-finding skills 

  • Experience working across commercial environments such as offices, retail spaces, warehouses or public buildings 

  • Good understanding of statutory compliance, RAMS and permit-to-work systems 

  • Competent using mobile CAFM systems, tablets or smartphones to receive and complete work instructions 

  • Full, clean UK Driving Licence 

  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage a mobile workload across multiple sites 

  • Basic Building Management System (BMS) knowledge would be advantageous 

  • Commercial gas qualifications including COCN1 or CODNCO1 would be advantageous but are not essential 

  • L8 Legionella awareness or water hygiene certification would be advantageous. 

  • IPAF, PASMA and a CSCS Blue or Gold Skilled Worker Card would also be beneficial
