Mobile Plant Fitter
Location: Workshop-based, with site coverage across Essex and surrounding counties
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am–5:00pm
Salary: £35,000–£45,000 per year, depending on experience
Requirements: Own tools and a full, clean UK driving licence
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join a growing and well-established company.
The position is split between workshop and customer sites and will involve travelling to customer sites across Essex and the surrounding counties when required. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide variety of plant and machinery within a modern, fully equipped workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults across a wide range of plant and machinery.
- Carry out routine servicing, PDI inspections and PAT testing.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
- Attend customer sites to diagnose and repair equipment when required.
- Use computer diagnostic equipment to accurately identify faults.
- Maintain accurate service records, job sheets and supporting documentation.
- Complete repairs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry best practice.
- Manage each repair effectively, from initial fault diagnosis through to completion.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely, accurately and to a high standard.

Skills and Experience
- A minimum of five years’ experience working as a Mobile Plant Fitter.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Experience using computer diagnostic equipment.
- The ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to maintain clear and precise service documentation.
- A reliable, flexible and team-focused approach.
- The ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure.
- A self-motivated approach and the ability to work independently.
- Your own tools.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
