Job Title:  Mobile Plant Fitter

Location:  Bristol and within 100 miles from the Bristol area  

Job Type: Permanent, Monday – Friday, 7 am – 5pm (call out as and when required), Overtime available

Salary: up too £24per hour (dependant on experience)

Overview:

Unify are delighted to be recruiting for a Plant Fitter to work across the Bristol and surrounding areas. You will be joining a leading provider of Plant Hire, Transport and Haulage service throughout the UK who are currently undergoing remarkable growth.

As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be tasked with maintaining and rectify faults on construction plant equipment, including diagnosing faults, repairs, and servicing.

What do I need?

  • Proven experience in maintaining, servicing and repairing construction or heavy plant equipment
  • Relevant qualifications, including NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance, Construction Plant Mechanics, Agricultural Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to deal with customers professionally and provide clear updates and reports.
  • Own tooling
  • Ability to work independently.
  • A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
  • Flexibility to help delivery the best customer service and be able to fulfil customer needs

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on a wide range of plant machinery in line with manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using suitable testing and diagnostic tools.
  • Respond to machinery breakdowns on customer sites within your designated area, ensuring downtime is minimised.
  • Inspect, test and confirm the performance of equipment, ensuring any faults are identified and resolved before returning it to service.
  • Maintain accurate records, including service reports, job sheets, parts usage and inspection documents.
  • Ensure all equipment complies with relevant health and safety regulations, including LOLER and PUWER.
  • Carry out servicing and maintenance in accordance with manufacturers recommended schedules and guidelines
  • Always represent the business professionally, acting as a reliable point of contact for customers.
