We're recruiting for a Relief Concrete Plant Supervisor to support multiple ready-mix concrete plants across the South West. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation that offers long-term career progression, excellent benefits and the chance to work across a variety of sites.
This is a hands-on role where you'll oversee the production of high-quality ready-mix concrete, support site operations, and ensure the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance are maintained. A full UK driving licence is essential, as travel between sites is required.
The RoleAs a Relief Concrete Plant Supervisor, you'll be responsible for:
- Operating computerised batching systems to produce ready-mix concrete to customer specifications.
- Supporting Production Managers with the day-to-day running of multiple concrete plants.
- Carrying out daily inspections of safety-critical equipment.
- Operating loading shovels to replenish aggregate stock.
- Monitoring stock levels and ordering raw materials when required.
- Managing the safe movement of mixer, tipper and cement tanker vehicles on site.
- Supervising contractors and ensuring work is completed safely.
- Completing environmental compliance checks and maintaining accurate records.
- Driving high standards of housekeeping and carrying out routine preventative maintenance.
- Coaching and supporting operational teams while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Promoting a positive health, safety and environmental culture across all sites.
- Previous experience working within a concrete plant, quarry, manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- A good mechanical and/or electrical understanding of plant machinery.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- The flexibility to travel across multiple sites within the South West.
- A full UK driving licence (essential).
