Mobile Refrigeration Engineer

Permanent | Full-Time

Salary: £45,000 + Diesel Van/Fuel Card
Hours: Monday–Friday | 7.30am–5pm (includes travel time) + On-Call + Regular Overtime
Location: Basildon-based | Mobile across East London & Essex

Our client, a leading provider of integrated facilities management and infrastructure solutions is hiring for an experienced Mobile Refrigeration Engineer to join a dedicated facilities team supporting a national Shell forecourt contract.

You’ll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and reactive repairs across commercial sites throughout East London and Essex. This is a varied mobile role covering refrigeration systems and associated equipment, ideally within retail, forecourt or similar commercial environments. You’ll work as part of an established engineering team, ensuring refrigeration equipment operates safely, efficiently and reliably across a diverse portfolio of sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs), servicing and reactive repairs across commercial sites.
• Fault-find, diagnose and repair refrigeration systems and associated equipment.
• Complete remedial works, component replacements and system upgrades.
• Identify faults and carry out repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
• Undertake basic electrical fault-finding and mechanical repairs.
• Complete F-Gas documentation and maintain accurate service records.
• Provide professional customer service across Shell forecourt locations.
• Work independently while supporting other engineers and subcontractors when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience as a commercial Refrigeration Engineer or an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer with strong refrigeration experience.
• Level 2 Air Conditioning & Refrigeration qualification – essential.
• F-Gas Category 1 – essential.
• Experience maintaining and repairing commercial refrigeration systems.
• Experience working in retail environments, such as forecourts, supermarkets, convenience stores or similar settings, would be highly desirable.
• Good mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• 18th Edition desirable.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.
