Mobile Service Van Technician

Hydrasun is looking for a skilled Mobile Service Van Technician to provide onsite hose replacement, assembly, inspection and maintenance services across customer locations. This is a hands-on field-based role requiring strong hydraulic or mechanical aptitude, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer call-outs and breakdowns efficiently.
- Assemble, install and replace hydraulic, pneumatic and industrial hose assemblies.
- Carry out hose inspections and identify replacement requirements.
- Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic system issues.
- Deliver high-quality workmanship in line with company and customer standards.
- Complete job sheets, service reports and timesheets accurately.
- Maintain stock levels within the mobile service vehicle.
- Conduct weekly vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Ensure all work complies with HSE, quality and environmental procedures.
- Follow risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Promote Hydrasun products and services where appropriate.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the service team.
- Mentor trainees and support team development when required.
- Participate in the on-call rota and work overtime as required.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Category B driving licence.
- Experience working with hydraulic, mechanical or pneumatic systems.
- Previous field service, maintenance, engineering or hose technician experience.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads.
- Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills withStrong customer service and communication bility.
- Ability to complete technical documentation accurately.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with hose assembly, inspection and pressure testing.
- BFPA qualification or equivalent hydraulic / fluid transfer certification.
- Forklift licence or operating experience.
- Engineering or technical qualification.
- Knowledge of fluid transfer, hose and fittings products.
