We are seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester for our client, a reputable family-run service centre located in Forest Hill, Greater London. This is a prime opportunity for experienced automotive professionals looking to join a friendly team committed to quality and long-term career development. The role of Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester is critical to maintaining the high standards of service expected by the workshop and its customers.

Benefits for the Successful MOT Technician:
  • Competitive salary between £35,000 and £40,000, dependent on experience and skills
  • Monday to Friday, working hours from 8am to 5:30pm
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 22 days after five years

Duties:
  • Conduct vehicle servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance to the highest standards
  • Perform MOT testing in compliance with DVSA regulations (qualification preferred)
  • Carry out repairs including clutches, timing belts, chains, and other mechanical components
  • Use diagnostic scanners and electronic systems to identify faults accurately
  • Assist with general workshop tasks to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Deliver excellent customer service through clear communication with clients
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester, ideally within a main dealer or independent garage
  • Proficiency in diagnostics and mechanical repairs
  • MOT certification is highly desirable but not essential
  • Own tools and the ability to work independently in a busy workshop environment
  • Positive attitude, professional approach, and effective communication skills
