We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable, family-run garage located in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, for an experienced MOT Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional seeking a well-supported role within a long-established business.   • Competitive basic salary up to £35,000, negotiable based on experience and qualifications
  • OTE over £40,000 with uncapped bonus scheme based on hours sold
  • Consistent working hours: Monday to Friday (8:30am – 5:30pm) and one Saturday in two (8:30am – 12:30pm)

  • No heavy engine rebuilds; focus on service, diagnostics, and light mechanical work

Duties of an MOT Technician:
  • Conduct multiple MOT tests throughout the day, with occasional light mechanical tasks
  • Ensure vehicles meet safety standards and comply with UK MOT regulations
  • Perform routine servicing and minor repairs as required
  • Maintain high levels of vehicle safety and customer satisfaction
  • Adhere to workshop policies and health & safety guidelines
  • Keep accurate records of work carried out
  • Work effectively within a team environment, supporting workshop operations
Requirements of an MOT Technician: 
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Valid MOT Tester registration
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience as a MOT Technician in a workshop environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Good communication skills and team player mentality
