We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable family-run automotive service centre based in Frome, Somerset, operating for over 25 years. They are seeking an experienced MOT Tester to join their friendly team. The MOT Tester will play a key role in maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and regulatory compliance within the workshop.

Benefits:
  • Up to £40,000 per annum starting salary, dependent on experience
  • Overtime paid at enhanced rates of time and a half, subject to availability

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm, with 1 in 2 Saturdays, 8:30am-1:00pm, paid as overtime

Duties:
  • Conduct MOT tests in compliance with legal and safety standards
  • Perform taxi inspections, VSI checks, and minibus inspections
  • Carry out routine vehicle inspections and identify potential issues
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment
  • Liaise effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow
  • Keep accurate records of all tests and inspections
Requirements:
  • Active Class 4/7 MOT testing licence
  • UK driving licence with minimal points
  • A Class 5 MOT licence would be highly beneficial but is not essential
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Prior experience as an MOT Tester is preferred
  • Ability to adhere to workshop safety procedures and standards
