Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Moulder to join a well-established foundry and heavy engineering business in Chesterfield. Working as part of a skilled production team, you will be responsible for producing moulds to specification, preparing materials, and supporting the manufacture of high-quality steel.
This role would suit an individual with previous foundry experience or someone with a strong manufacturing background looking to develop a career within a specialist engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and assemble moulds in accordance with engineering drawings and production requirements.
- Prepare moulding materials, patterns, cores, and associated equipment.
- Carry out moulding operations to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Inspect moulds and completed work for defects and report any quality concerns.
- Assist with the pouring, shakeout, and finishing processes when required.
- Operate foundry equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Work closely with colleagues across production and maintenance teams to achieve daily production targets.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the foundry.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience as a Moulder, Foundry Operative, Production Operative, or within a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of moulding processes and foundry operations would be advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings.
- Experience working with hand tools and industrial equipment.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a demanding industrial environment.
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
