Multi Skilled Day Shift Engineer

Location: Glasgow, G5 8DP

Hours of work: 40 (Monday - Friday)

Contract Type: Permanent

Our client, ISS, is seeking a Multi Skilled Day Shift Engineer to join the team at the Glasgow campus, responsible for delivering both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across site.

This role requires a strong Electrical bias, with candidates ideally holding, or having previously held, HVAP status, with a £3,000 uplift available once approved on site.

Job Description

We are looking for an individual with a Facilities Management background who can ensure engineering standards are maintained to maximise plant reliability and performance.

You will play a key role in maintaining compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements while supporting a high-quality service delivery in a corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules to maintain operational effectiveness of plant and systems.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to all electrical and mechanical reactive maintenance issues and helpdesk requests.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis on plant and systems.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to PPM and plant maintenance activities.
  • Ensure adherence to onsite Quality Assurance procedures and engineering standards.
  • Conduct technical surveys and report findings to the Supervisor.
  • Coordinate initial actions associated with client requests and manage follow-up activities.
  • Support minor installation work, including repair and maintenance of lighting and distribution systems.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Proven background within Facilities Management (FM).
  • Experience delivering both PPM and reactive maintenance in a corporate or banking environment.
  • Fully electrically qualified, including 18th Edition and installation experience.
  • HV or HVAP status, either current or previously held.
  • Full UK driving licence required, with travel between two sites (pool van provided).
  • Strong team player with a positive approach to team culture.
