The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Barnsley.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an electrically biased engineer looking to join a stable organisation offering a competitive salary, permanent employment and a structured 3 on / 3 off day and night shift pattern.
You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and availability of production machinery and site equipment, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of production machinery and site services.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
- Fault-find using electrical schematics, drawings and test equipment.
- Identify recurring faults and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work safely and ensure all maintenance activities comply with company procedures.
- Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately.
- Support breakdown response and ensure machinery is returned to production as quickly and safely as possible.
- Assist with installation, modification and improvement of equipment where required.
- Work closely with production and engineering colleagues to maintain high levels of plant reliability.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A recognised Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering / Maintenance Engineering or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good mechanical maintenance knowledge.
- The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving faults.
- The ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team.
- Flexibility to work a 3 on / 3 off days and nights shift pattern.
