Shift Pattern: 3 on / 3 off - Days & Nights

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Barnsley.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an electrically biased engineer looking to join a stable organisation offering a competitive salary, permanent employment and a structured 3 on / 3 off day and night shift pattern.

You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and availability of production machinery and site equipment, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.



Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of production machinery and site services.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
  • Fault-find using electrical schematics, drawings and test equipment.
  • Identify recurring faults and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work safely and ensure all maintenance activities comply with company procedures.
  • Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately.
  • Support breakdown response and ensure machinery is returned to production as quickly and safely as possible.
  • Assist with installation, modification and improvement of equipment where required.
  • Work closely with production and engineering colleagues to maintain high levels of plant reliability.


About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A recognised Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering / Maintenance Engineering or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good mechanical maintenance knowledge.
  • The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving faults.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team.
  • Flexibility to work a 3 on / 3 off days and nights shift pattern.
