An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a globally recognised manufacturer operating within the food and ingredients sector. Working within a fast-paced process manufacturing environment, you'll play a key role in maintaining plant reliability, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and delivering engineering excellence across the site.

Working as part of a close-knit engineering team, you'll have exposure to a diverse range of equipment and technologies, providing the opportunity to further develop both your electrical and mechanical skillsets while contributing to the success of a critical manufacturing operation.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown support, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities across a busy manufacturing facility.

You'll work closely with production teams to minimise downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support site-wide engineering projects, helping to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant.

Equipment You'll Be Working On

You'll support and maintain a wide range of equipment and systems, including:

  • Manufacturing process plant
  • Pumps and electric motors
  • Steam and boiler systems
  • Chilled water systems
  • Instrumentation and control systems
  • PLC-controlled equipment
  • Variable speed drives (VSDs)
  • Pneumatic systems
  • Site utilities and support services

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Responding to breakdowns and completing reactive repairs
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding
  • Supporting reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assisting with engineering projects, upgrades, and installations
  • Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and engineering compliance
  • Identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from engineers with experience in manufacturing, food production, FMCG, process industries, or other industrial environments. This role would particularly suit an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer looking to further develop their skills within a highly automated process manufacturing environment.

You'll Ideally Have:

  • An Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineering background
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience maintaining industrial machinery and equipment
  • A proactive and practical approach to engineering maintenance
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and safe working practices
  • Relevant engineering qualifications

Shift Pattern

This position operates on a structured four-week rotating shift pattern, providing 24/7 engineering support while offering excellent variety and work-life balance.

The Rota Includes:

  • A mix of day and night shifts
  • Weekday-based working patterns
  • Regular long weekends off
  • Extended rest periods throughout the shift cycle
  • Shared on-call rota (typically one weekend in four)

This shift arrangement provides significantly more time away from work than many traditional maintenance engineering shift patterns.
