Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Contract (Multiple Vacancies Available)

Our client has brought over 150 years of heritage to the UK, establishing their first international production site in one of their strongest markets. Following a £70m investment, the state-of-the-art facility has been transformed, doubling production capacity and introducing new equipment and automation.
With the site entering an exciting period of expansion and increased production, they are looking for Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join the team on a contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers to work within a modern, highly automated manufacturing environment and play a key role in keeping production running efficiently.
The Maintenance Engineer Role
As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and fault finding across high-speed automated production machinery.
You'll be responsible for:
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical breakdowns
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Fault-finding across automated production machinery
- Working with conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, sensors and other manufacturing equipment
- Responding quickly to breakdowns and minimising equipment downtime
- Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability
- Working closely with Production and Engineering teams
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety
About You
We're looking for a hands-on Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with:
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, food, automotive or another automated environment
- Mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience
- Strong experience across PPM, reactive and breakdown maintenance
- Experience working with production machinery and automated equipment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- An engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent
- PLC experience is advantageous but not essential
Engineers from a range of manufacturing backgrounds will be considered, provided you have strong hands-on maintenance experience within an automated, industrial environment.
Shift Pattern
- Monday–Friday rotating 3-shift pattern
- 8-hour shifts across mornings, lates and nights
- No weekends
