Elevation Recruitment Group is working in partnership with a well-established manufacturing business in Birmingham to recruit an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their maintenance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to play a key role in maintaining production equipment, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance across plant equipment and site facilities.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical and electro-mechanical machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs to minimise downtime.
- Operate and develop preventative maintenance schedules and systems.
- Program, fault-find, and interrogate Siemens and other PLC systems.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and provide technical support to production teams.
- Read, interpret, and update electrical drawings and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- A recognised apprenticeship and relevant technical qualifications (NVQ, ONC, HNC, or equivalent).
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working with PLCs, including fault-finding and interrogation.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems.
- Previous experience carrying out preventative maintenance activities.
- Experience of condition monitoring techniques.
- The ability to read, interpret, and amend electrical schematics and drawings.
- Understanding of variable speed drives, including setup and configuration.
- Good knowledge of IEE Wiring Regulations.
- Experience with vacuum technology, forges, and presses.
- Previous experience within a medium to heavy engineering or manufacturing environment.
- A strong understanding of safe working practices, including Permit to Work (PTW) systems and risk assessments.
