We are recruiting on behalf of a well-respected facilities management company seeking an experienced and versatile Multi Skilled Mobile Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a skilled team where you will be responsible for assisting in the operation, maintenance, and repair of multiple commercial buildings across the North East.
The Role
In this role, you'll handle the repair, maintenance and installation of plant, equipment and systems across a range of client sites, in line with best practice and statutory compliance requirements. The position carries an electrical bias, but you'll also be expected to turn your hand to other building services disciplines, including HVAC and plumbing. You'll help ensure service levels are consistently met, develop strong client relationships, and keep critical building systems running safely and smoothly.
Job details:
- Carrying out day-to-day operation, planned maintenance, fault finding and repairs across HVAC, electrical, water systems and Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Performing periodic inspections and testing across the full range of building services
- Recording test results, remedial actions and follow-up requirements accurately
- Developing strong customer relationships and delivering a high standard of service
- Liaising closely with site teams, sub-contractors and other departments to support clear communication and safe working practices
- Acting as an authorised person for boilers, pressure vessels, confined spaces, and fuels/oils/lubricants (subject to qualification)
- Maintaining full compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and Permit to Work requirements
- Logging completed work via the company's CAFM system
- Supporting incident management processes and putting forward ideas for service improvements
- Taking part in the on-call rota (1 in 14 weeks, including weekends).
Qualifications / Experience:
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Facilities Maintenance (essential).
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Knowledge of BMS Systems (preferred).
- 18th Edition (Essential).
- AM2 Certificate (Highly Desirable)
- Valid UK driving license (Essential).
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
