Job Title: Multi Trader / Plumber – HMP (Prison Estate)

Location: HMP Feltham (TW13 4NP)
Salary: Competitive / £200-£250 per day (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Job Type: Full-time / Contract

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Multi Trader / Plumber to join our team working within the prison estate. The role involves carrying out a range of plumbing maintenance, repairs, and general multi-trade works across secure facilities, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a stable environment offering consistent hours and long-term work, supporting the maintenance and improvement of essential public-sector infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out plumbing maintenance, repairs, and installations.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on plumbing and drainage systems.
  • Undertake general multi-trade duties including basic carpentry, painting, patch plastering, tiling, and general maintenance works.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant regulations and health & safety requirements.
  • Complete job sheets, reports, and associated documentation accurately.
  • Work safely and follow all prison security procedures.
  • Liaise with site management and other trades to ensure works are completed efficiently.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism at all times.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in plumbing maintenance and repair works.
  • Multi-trade experience within maintenance environments.
  • Ability to carry out a range of general building maintenance tasks.
  • Comfortable working within a secure environment and willing to undergo vetting clearance - Enhanced DBS.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.

Important Information

All applicants must be able to pass prison security vetting before starting work. Previous experience working within prisons, MOD sites, hospitals, schools, or other secure/public sector environments is beneficial but not essential.
