Multiskilled Engineer with a Plumbing Bias
We are seeking an experienced Multiskilled Engineer with a plumbing bias to join a council’s building maintenance team.
As a Multiskilled Engineer with a plumbing bias, you will carry out plumbing repairs, planned maintenance and general building maintenance across council properties.
Key responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair plumbing faults, including leaks, pipework, taps, toilets and drainage.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, water hygiene checks and minor plumbing installations.
- Apply your skills as a Multiskilled Engineer with a plumbing bias to complete general building repairs within your capabilities and qualifications.
- Identify defects, report additional works and maintain accurate job records.
- Provide a professional service to residents, council staff and building users.
- Follow health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
Essential requirements:
- Proven experience as a Multiskilled Engineer with a plumbing bias, or in a similar maintenance role.
- Relevant plumbing qualification or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong plumbing repair skills and experience in general building maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose faults, manage workloads and work independently.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to drive between council sites.
- Enhanced DBS check required — we can help process this if needed.
Council, housing association or facilities maintenance experience would be advantageous.
