I'm currently working on an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a World Leading Manufacturing business based in Burton-on-Trent. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to join a highly automated production environment with excellent long-term career prospects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment, ensuring maximum machine availability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Role Description
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities across manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical fault finding on production machinery.
- Support continuous improvement projects aimed at improving reliability, efficiency, and safety.
- Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
- Work closely with production teams to optimise machine performance and output.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete necessary documentation.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Support root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled).
- Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery (Siemens experience desirable).
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience within FMCG, Automotive, Distribution, Packaging, or Medical manufacturing environments would be advantageous.
