Multi-Skilled Engineer – Electrical Bias

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias to join an established facilities management team working on a major healthcare contract in Oxford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on electrically biased engineer to work within a professional healthcare environment, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a busy and technically demanding site.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and fault finding, with a strong focus on electrical maintenance.
You will work across a range of electrical, mechanical and building services systems, ensuring equipment and facilities remain safe, compliant and fully operational.
The role will involve working closely with engineers, specialist contractors and the client, while maintaining high standards of health and safety, customer service and technical compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site
- Diagnose electrical faults and complete repairs
- Undertake PPM in line with SFG20 and site requirements
- Respond efficiently to breakdowns and maintenance requests
- Carry out electrical fault finding and preventative maintenance
- Work across wider M&E and building services systems where required
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with site procedures
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and update the CAFM system
- Work alongside specialist contractors and other engineering teams
- Support statutory, compliance and safety requirements
- Maintain positive working relationships with the client and site personnel
- Assist with general building services duties where required
About You
We are specifically looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong electrical bias and a solid maintenance background.
Ideally, you will have experience working within commercial, healthcare, critical facilities or other high-compliance environments. Previous healthcare experience would be advantageous, although engineers from other technically demanding facilities environments will also be considered.
You should have:
- Strong electrical maintenance experience
- Previous experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role
- Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance
- Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- A good understanding of wider mechanical and building services systems
- An understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Relevant electrical qualifications, apprenticeship or equivalent experience
