Are you a time-served engineer with strong electrical fault-finding experience and a broad mechanical skill set?
We're recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment. This is a key role within the engineering function, responsible for maintaining the reliable and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment through proactive and reactive maintenance.
You'll play an important role in keeping production running safely and efficiently, while also supporting planned preventative maintenance, equipment improvements and wider site engineering projects.

The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment, responding quickly to faults and ensuring machinery is safely returned to service with minimal disruption to production.
You'll undertake planned and reactive maintenance activities while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime and enhance overall production performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and repairing equipment faults, with a particular focus on electrical fault finding and diagnostics
- Carrying out proactive and reactive maintenance across a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Supporting the delivery and ongoing improvement of the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule
- Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and performance
- Applying Continuous Improvement principles to reduce downtime and improve product quality
- Completing accurate maintenance records, shift handovers and relevant engineering reports
- Carrying out a range of electrical maintenance tasks, including sensor replacement and calibration
- Undertaking low-voltage repairs, including plugs, fuses, lights and bulbs
- Completing breaker resets and electrical fault tracing
- Adjusting and maintaining camera and vision systems where required
- Safely disconnecting and reconnecting plug-in motors using local isolation procedures
- Supporting mechanical maintenance activities as part of a flexible multi-skilled engineering team
- Contributing to engineering improvement projects, equipment upgrades and wider site initiatives
- Ensuring all contractor and engineering work is completed safely and in line with site requirements
- Managing the issuing of engineering parts through the maintenance management system
- Maintaining accurate engineering records and ensuring compliance with company standards, audits and regulatory requirements
- Working closely with colleagues across all shifts to ensure effective communication and a smooth handover of engineering issues
About You
We're looking for a confident and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer who is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can take ownership of both planned and reactive maintenance.
To be successful, you'll have:
- A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship and be a time-served engineer
- Strong experience in electrical fault finding, diagnostics and root cause analysis
- Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices
- The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical technical documentation
- Competence across both electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Experience using a CMMS / Maintenance Management System
- Good general IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- A strong safety mindset and commitment to maintaining high standards
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels
- A positive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach
