Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) - Thetford 
£42,000 per annum | Full-time, Monday–Friday (40 hrs/week) | Rotating shifts: 06:00–14:30 / 14:00–22:30

A well-established manufacturing site in Thetford is on the lookout for an electrically biased Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to strengthen its engineering team. This is a hands-on, varied position covering planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across a wide range of production equipment.

You'll be joining a close-knit team where no two days look quite the same - one minute you could be running scheduled checks, the next diagnosing an unexpected fault or helping commission a new piece of kit. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, and wants to grow their skills in a genuinely supportive setting.

What the job involves:

  • Scheduled servicing and inspections to keep machinery reliable and reduce unplanned stoppages
  • Fault-finding and repair across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Responding quickly to breakdowns to get lines back up and running
  • Helping install and commission new equipment as the site expands or upgrades
  • Keeping clear, accurate maintenance and fault records
  • Flagging ideas for improving efficiency and cutting unnecessary costs
  • Following all relevant health and safety procedures without exception
  • Working closely with production staff to spot problems early and head off future issues

What you'll bring:

  • Solid maintenance engineering experience, ideally from a manufacturing or production background
  • A strong grasp of both mechanical and electrical systems, with real fault-finding experience
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge is a bonus, though not essential
  • A calm, methodical approach to problem-solving, whether working solo or as part of a team
  • Confidence communicating with people at all levels, from colleagues to managers
  • A solid understanding of workplace health and safety, plus any relevant trade qualifications (electrical, mechanical or general engineering)
