About the Role

Cover People are currently recruiting for a Music Teacher to join an oversubscribed, welcoming secondary academy (11–16) based in Didsbury, South Manchester, from September 2026 until December 2026.

This position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in a long-term role, delivering engaging and inspiring Music lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. ECT 1s and ECT 2s will be allocated a supportive mentor to help them complete a full term of their induction.

M1–M6 Teachers will be paid to scale from day one.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality Music lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Plan, prepare, and assess engaging learning activities that inspire creativity and musical development
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress effectively
  • Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment
  • Support the academic, creative, and personal development of all learners
  • Contribute to the wider life of the Music department where appropriate
Requirements
  • QTS or equivalent UK teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Music at KS3 and GCSE level
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A passion for Music education and pupil progress
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities
  • Right to work in the UK
